We’ve planned a smorgasbord of events between now and finals to help students with papers, studying, and stress. In addition to the scheduled events below, keep an eye out (or sniffer working) for pop-up coffee giveaways and other surprise treats.
Dash n Draw
Wednesday, April 9, 6:00 p.m. (Shouldn’t last more than an hour)
Main Library, 4th floor Group Study Room
Pictionary crossed with a scavenger hunt crossed with relay race. Compete in teams of three, but win individual prizes. If you don’t have a team of three, we’ll find you teammates at the event.
Prizes on the Big Prize Board:
- Exclusive, individual use of a private study carrel (that locks!) at the Main or Science Library FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK OF FINALS
- A reserved room at the MLC for a 3-hour period during finals week.
- Space on the digital “bulletin board” in the Main Library main corridor. (Say happy birthday to your BFF, Celebrate your Founder’s Day, Promote an upcoming event.)
And everybody who comes gets a take-away gift, as well as cookies and coffee.
Refworks and Writing Papers
Wednesday, April 16, 3:00-4:00 p.m.
Refworks is web-based software that will allow you to collect, format, and add citations to your paper. Takes half the headache out of writing papers. Use our computers in the lab or bring your own laptop.
Proof Your Paper
Wednesday, April 23, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Main Library, 1st floor Study Area
We can’t write it for you, but we can reduce typos and other minor errors that will ruin your days and haunt your nights.
Reading Day Popcorn
Tuesday, April 29, 2-3:30 p.m.
MLC, 2nd floor, near Jittery Joe’s
Crunchy snacks improve memory and concentration: it’s totally true! (We think.)
Paws and Relax!
Wednesday, April 30, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Main Library (North campus lawn)
MLC (Lawn facing Tate Plaza)
Science Library (outside on the Dawson Hall Side)
Let a nice dog hold your paw and tell you everything will be fine.
