How to Request Material
To explore the collections of the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies, or the Walter J. Brown Media Archives and Peabody Award Collections, please visit their websites to search their collection databases:

i. Requesting Material via Online Collection Guides
Search for collections based on keywords and names
Select the Title of the collection you are interested in using
Once the boxes of interest are identified, click the Request Material box on the left side of the screen
Choose the boxes you would like to use by selecting the check boxes in the Series Description and Folder Listing section of the finding aid
Click the Submit Request button (Russell) or Request Material button (Hargrett)
A window will pop up requesting that you: 1) confirm your selection, 2) add any notes that will help you recall any pertinent information about your selection, and 3) choose whether to save your request to submit later or select a date when you want to come in to see the material. REMEMBER: Staff will not automatically pull materials in advance of your arrival unless you call or email Special Collections prior to your visit.
Once the request is submitted, you will be taken to your Special Collections Research Account to log in. If you do not have a Special Collections Research Account, you will have an opportunity to create one. ii. Requesting Material via GILFind
Search for material housed in the Special Collections Libraries in GILFind - http://gilfind.uga.edu/
Select the Title of the book or item, Click on the Request to View at Special Collections link
A window will pop up requesting that you: 1) confirm your selection, 2) add any notes that will help you recall any pertinent information about your selection, and 3) choose whether to save your request to submit later or select a date when you want to come in to see the material. REMEMBER: Staff will not automatically pull materials in advance of your arrival unless you call or email Special Collections prior to your visit.
Click the Submit Request button
